Under the moniker “Dirty Disco Records” I’ve been DJing publicly and privately for just under a decade.

It all started out when I was working in a record store where the owner, a friend of mine, asked me to fill in for him one Friday evening. I took my half-baked collection of random stuff to the club and had a great time, during which I realised that my favourite part was playing from my disco records.

One thing leads to another and here I find myself a real disco connoisseur, which as it turns out is great for pretty much every occasion. It also of course means I have a great time playing, all the time.

In the beginning, I was mostly playing clubs, though that soon expanded as I played at corporate events like the Queen’s Plate (a horserace), festivals like "A Family Affair” hosted by Pangea, 21st and 50th birthday parties and, of course, weddings.

Much like DJing as a whole my first wedding was with my friend who asked me to help him out, we drove to Stanford, set up shop, and played the night away. You only realise how special weddings truly are when you’re sitting on the other side with no connections to the couple. You see raw emotions and realise how “make or break” the right sound and music can be, and I realised I really enjoyed it. Since then I’ve been doing weddings where I love working with the couple to custom make their own sound for the night, from background music to the dance party and the songs for the ceremony. It gives me great joy to get it perfect and unique for each wedding I do.

What do I bring to the table?

Along with the music, obviously, I come with a sound system which includes a microphone for the ceremony. I’m more than happy to work with wedding planners to help create a smooth and flawless comprehensive experience. Lighting setups are also possible.
